The Root of Transformation is an immersive eight-week group process into the foundational practices of ThetaSoma™—an experiential psycho-technology that catalyzes growth, transformation and healing.

Personal evolution becomes like nature; instead of being a struggle, our process, uninterrupted and undisturbed, becomes unfolding growth.
— Steven Harper

All transformation begins at the root.

We all want to change something about ourselves.

You want to look better, eat better, feel better, focus more effectively or accomplish more of your goals.

You want to feel more stable, more present, and even more alive in your daily life.

You want to transform your limitations and realize your true potential.

You have a vision for your life that you feel destined to step into—but, you wonder how to get there.

In our fast-paced culture of economic urgency, spiritual materialism, and viral reels—everyone wants quick fixes and quantum leaps into new realities.

But, few people take the time to go within and find the real source of what is holding them back.

The truth is that real, sustainable change doesn’t happen overnight.

Just like if you want to become stronger, you can’t go to the gym once and expect results—right?

Well, self-awareness is a muscle that must be built inside our consciousness.

It takes time.

It takes repetition.

It takes practice, honesty—and usually it takes falling off the horse and getting back on again.

Real transformation requires a process of self-inquiry, reflection, and embodied practices to integrate our realizations, shift our vibration and become a new version of ourselves.

This is what we do at ThetaSoma™.

We dive deep inside the body, heart, soul and mind to uncover the fears, beliefs, memories, and wounds that block our energy from flowing freely.

We listen.

We move slowly.

We become the change we wish to see in the world—from the inside out.

We get to the root, we sit with it, and we give it the space that it needs.

Then, when the soil is ready, we change.

In this way, transformation is not something we force; it is something we allow.

And here’s where science comes in:

The Window of Neuroplasticity.

Modern neuroscience has revealed that the brain has specific windows where it becomes far more receptive to change. This is called heightened neuroplasticity—a period when new neural pathways can be formed more easily and old emotional patterns become malleable.

After experiences such as psilocybin, Iboga, ayahuasca, MDMA, LSD, or ketamine, the brain enters a 30–90 day period of amplified neuroplastic potential.

In other words: your brain becomes biologically primed for transformation. However, psychedelic experiences do not create transformation on their own.

They open the door—but you must decide what walks through it.

This is exactly why ThetaSoma™ exists.

We use meditation and self-reflection inquiry to consciously engage the neuroplastic window—whether it was opened through psychedelics, life transitions, spiritual awakening, heartbreak, or simply the readiness to grow.

This process is not a quick fix, or an overnight transformation, but over time—it works.

I cannot promise that you will make $1 million dollars, get instagram famous, or even find your dream relationship—to be honest what you do with your transformation is totally up to you.

But, I can tell you that this work creates a sense of peace that our world truly needs right now.

It creates a frequency of coherence, love, and resonance with who you are on a soul level.

And you will learn practices to shift your patterns at the root so that you can change—for real this time.

My own life is proof of that.

Meet Your Guides

ALEXANDRA CARELLI

Hi, I’m Alexandra—and I am going to take you on a journey home to yourself.

My life has been an absolutely wild psychedelic adventure that has tested me, challenged me, and cracked me open in every imaginable way.

But through it all, I always trusted the magic of life.

I marched to my own beat, followed my intuition over external expectations, and always led with my heart regardless of what anyone else said or thought I should do. I believe it is this dedication to authenticity and a borderline delusional sense of cosmic purpose that has led me here.📍

And where am I exactly?

Peace. I am living in peace.

I won’t divulge my whole trauma story in this short bio, but I will say this: a series of experiences of early childhood abuse and attachment wounding left me with a case of complex-ptsd, major relational dysfunction, and a legendary anger problem.

I spent the first thirty years of my life running away from myself.

I self-sabotaged, burned down opportunities, abandoned relationships, and destroyed entire chapters of my life before I finally woke up one day and decided I needed to change—or I was going to keep repeating these same painful patterns.

So, I surrendered.

It took countless journeys with psychedelic medicine, seven years of therapy, every podcast and self-help book I could find, and many nights down on my knees in tears begging the plant spirits and ancestors to help me—but I found a way through the tangled webs of my own psyche.

I wrestled with my shadow.

I humbled myself.

I took full responsibility for the choices I had made and, very slowly, I learned how to make different ones.

I can sit here now and say that my life has truly changed.

I haven’t had an anger outburst in years; my intimate relationship is a sanctuary for love; and I wake up every day devoted to my soul’s purpose.

I live with a sense of peace, stability, creativity, and self-knowing that was hard won—but now I know that I am better for all of it.

What I learned along the way is that it was not one tool or modality that transformed me—it was the process itself. The rhythm of self-awareness, reflection, responsibility, compassion, embodiment, and practice.

I became the vehicle through which transformation could occur.

I don’t share all of this to pretend I am fully healed and resolved, because I will be the first to say that I am most certainly not. Life still triggers and challenges me, and I still have to get up every day and commit to the work; but I don’t get lost in the trauma drama anymore.

I have learned the skill of self-awareness that allows me to observe my thoughts, patterns and behaviors so that I can practice non-reactivity and make choices that expand my capacity to create a beautiful reality.

From High School drop-out; to traveling Yogini; to Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy; to PhD in Transpersonal Psychology, I have taken a rather unconventional and circuitous route to my healing. I like to joke that I was so f*cked up, I had to get a PhD in psychology to heal myself.

But, along the way, I did find some tools that work.

They say that there are no new ideas, only new arrangements.

Now, I offer you this method—a living practice for transformation—in a form that, just maybe, will work for you too.

BENJAMIN MOSS

I am facilitating The Root of Transformation with my incredibly gifted, loving and supportive partner, Benjamin.

Benjamin is a masterful visionary artist who creates stunning works that express his relationship to femininity, the Earth, and the cosmological process. His dedication and discipline to his craft inspires me every day—and I am so excited to bring his creative magic into ThetaSoma™.

Benjamin is a sensitive dendrophile, a lifelong seeker of truth, a seasoned meditator, and well-versed in slaying his own demons as a recovered addict.

He has successfully completed four vipassana meditation retreats—one of which required 21 days of silence.

Benjamin was born in a small town in North Dakota where he was raised within a strict catholic belief system that indoctrinated a fear-based relationship to God. In college, he became interested in philosophy which illustrated the false narratives of Christianity and shifted his views to a more rationalist perspective—eventually leading him to nihilism.

The rejection of his early christian belief catalyzed a spiritual crisis that resulted in a penchant for self-destruction.

Lost in a nihilistic spiral throughout his twenties, Benjamin became gripped by substance abuse and for a period of time, he totally lost the tether of connection to Self.

At some point, he was introduced to Ayahuasca and sat in over sixty ceremonies. While Aya provided some temporary spiritual relief, eventually there was a rupture within the community that led to an even deeper level of psycho-spiritual crisis.

The decade of his thirties found Benjamin flirting with disaster as he pushed the edges of his consciousness with drugs and alcohol.

It had gotten so bad, that he stopped creating Art.

Finally, after well over a decade of addiction, Benjamin decided he need a change—or his habits would cost him his life. He booked an Iboga retreat in Thailand and set off for his most transformative experience to date.

Iboga is a powerful master plant medicine from Africa that takes you on a 24+ hour visionary journey into the heart of your biological narrative. Iboga evokes a waking dream where the experient relives all of the traumas, wounds, experiences and beliefs that have created your sense of self—and it forces you to find a sense of peace and forgiveness.

After the retreat, Benjamin was able to maintain a full six months of sobriety for the first time in his life and returned to his lifelong work as a visionary painter.

Benjamin and I practiced ThetaSoma™ together as an integration tool—which further helped him to heal the root of his addictive patterns and settle into a daily rhythm of sobriety.

Now, Benjamin continues to live devoted to his daily painting practice, to sobriety, and to his sense of purpose.

Benjamin currently lives and paints in the forest of Nevada City, CA where he communicates the emotional depths of the human soul through his devotion to creating visually-stunning works of visionary art.

There is always a moment when we are ready to change.

When that moment arrives—if we can open to it— then we experience transformation as a natural, evolutionary unfolding.

The Transformative Process

The Root of Transformation is an eight-week, immersive group process into the essential practices of ThetaSoma™: meditation, reflection, responsibility, practice, commitment, surrender, union, and emergence.

Together, these practices activate neuroplasticity, deepen inner awareness, unwind trauma patterns, and support the emergence of a more coherent, present, and authentic version of you.

  • Learn the core ThetaSoma™ process—a somatic-based meditation practice that guides the system into a theta-dominant state while staying grounded in the body.
    This opens the field for:

    • nervous system regulation

    • pattern recognition

    • emotional clarity

    • intuitive intelligence

Meditation is the gateway to the Inner Witness.

“When we meditate in a completely engaged way, we lose the sense of time. Then the brain creates new neural networks. Both the functioning and the structures of the brain change. To a real-time brain-scanning instrument, those changes appear as great harmonic complexity. Biological evolution happens in real time as a reflection of spiritual evolution.” –John Stanley and David Loy

  • Explore the roots of emotional patterns through dynamic self-inquiry practices. Get real with yourself.

Noticing sensations, emotions, impulses, and memories arising in the body. This builds interoceptive awareness, which is essential for trauma resolution and behavioral change.

Reflection helps the nervous system name and metabolize what has been unconscious.

On a relational level, you will practice conscious communication, co-regulation, and relational attunement. Transform projection into empathy and connection into a field of awakening.

    “Sit, be still, and listen,

    For you are drunk,

And we are on the edge of the roof.” –Rumi

  • Transformation requires a deep sense of responsibility. Integrate accountability as a spiritual and energetic practice.

Recognizing the patterns you are running, the choices you are making, and the ways you are shaping your own experience.
This is not self-blame — it is empowerment.

Responsibility unlocks your capacity to choose a different future.

“Our instructions–and I’m talking about for all human beings–our instructions are to get along.” –Chief Oren Lyons

“The ego-self can be retrained, to develop a more inclusive identity. I am more than me. I am connected to you. I am a member of we.” –John Stanley and David Loy

  • Develop a new personal practice. This is the process of becoming the change. Anchor insight through daily embodiment and present-moment awareness.

This is daily embodiment of the principles.
Practice is where transformation becomes tangible — through breath, attention, behavior, and emotional regulation.

This is the heart of rewiring.
This is where the old patterns weaken and the new ones strengthen.

“Practice implies process; there is no beginning and or end, but a life-time of engagement and discovery.” –Steven Harper

  • Change happens through commitment to the process. it will get hard, keep going.

Set a clear intention for who you are becoming. This transforms insight into direction and gives the brain a stable target for rewiring.

Commitment reinforces the new neural pathways you are building.

  • You are starting to find your groove. Now let go, and let the magic happen.

Softening the armor, releasing control, and allowing the deeper intelligence of the psyche to emerge.

    Surrender opens access to:

    • intuition

    • soul wisdom

    • emotional breakthroughs

    • symbolic insight

    • subtle perception

This is where healing becomes effortless.

“We recognize that the universe is a self-aware creative process. This pure creative potential is in us too. It can awaken and free itself from the limiting identities and games of the human condition.” –John Stanley and David Loy

  • Experience interconnectedness across all aspects of self. Cultivate inner harmony and relational coherence. Create a sense of union with the one you are becoming.

Union is not an achievement — it’s a state of coherence arising from the work you’ve done.

    This is where you feel:

    • aligned

    • whole

    • connected

    • attuned

    • open

    • grounded

Union prepares the ground for Emergence — the expression of your new self.

“Love is the most powerful force in Creation, and it is our love for the Earth that will heal what we have desecrated, that will guide us through this wasteland and help us to bring light back to our darkening world. Love links us all together in the most mysterious ways, and love can guide our hearts and hands. And the central note of love is oneness. Love speaks the language of oneness, of unity rather than separation”. –Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee

  • Embodying your new neural, emotional, and spiritual architecture

The final week is a celebration and a threshold crossing. As your inner architecture shifts, a new self emerges — one rooted in presence, possibility, and soul-aligned expression.

“I thank you God for most this amazing

Day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees

And a blue true dream of sky; and for everything

Which is natural which is infinite which is yes”

    –E.E. Cummings

🦋 The Weekly Structure

Each 90 minute live group session follows a consistent rhythm designed to support psychological, somatic, and neuroplastic transformation:

• Opening Meditation — Regulates the nervous system and prepares the brain for change.
• Group Reflection — A shared space to integrate insights and deepen awareness.
• Teaching on the Weekly Theme — Grounded guidance in transpersonal psychology and spiritual practice.
• Live ThetaSoma™ Session — Each week, one participant receives a session as the group witnesses, regulates, and learns through the shared field.

All sessions are recorded for continued integration.

🦋 The Power of the Group Field

A group container accelerates transformation. When one person heals, everyone feels it.

Witnessing a ThetaSoma™ session activates shared unconscious material, strengthens emotional resonance, and opens access to deeper layers of insight. This phenomenon—visible in shamanic, psychological, and spiritual traditions—creates a collective field where healing, clarity, and transformation unfold more rapidly.

There is medicine in being seen and there is medicine in witnessing.

🦋 Your Commitment

Participants are encouraged to enter the 8-week process with a clear intention to transform something meaningful—whether emotional, psychological, relational, or behavioral.

This may include: eating differently, moving your body, finding more peace, creating healthier relationships, expanding creativity, shifting an addictive pattern, or whatever is alive for you.

Whatever you choose to transform, we walk beside you.
